Détente Argus Dressage Saddle

There is nothing very sexy about the Détente Argus dressage saddle, which is precisely its appeal. This is an updated version of the type of saddle long-favored in schools of classical dressage. The seat is supportive and comfortable without slotting the rider into a deep trough. For the horse it has every comfort-centric detail that is a specialty of the Détente range, including a very large, very supportive bearing area in the panel. The time-tested Argus tree-type is gratifyingly uncomplicated and versatile to fit.

The Détente Argus is well-suited to the moderately flat-backed horse, as it has less front-to-back profile than the Détente Isis, though both saddles are very versatile to fit, and many horses can wear both the Argus and the Isis trees comfortably. The superbly supportive panel and sensible, horse-friendly tree makes it an appropriate choice for horses with or without substantial withers, and for riders who prefer less scoop in the seat.
